1) What are some characteristics of blogs?
- Blogs are personalized orginizational space where anyone can post whatever they would like, not just text. Organization is the time and data stamp showing when something was posted, the other side of that is the page should be easy to navigate so that others may see your page easily. The blogger can post text, pictures, videos, other website links, among other things. The blogs are personalized by what the blogger posts as well as how they design their page.
2) What are they useful for?
- Blogs are useful because they make it easy for someone to share and express opinions. Blogs allow people to interact in all sorts of ways, as friends, classmates, schools, companies, anyone who wants to share information, facts, or opinions.
3) How are blog posts a distinctive type of writing?
- They are distinctive because each writer can wrie whatever they feel. There is no format or structure that each writer has to follow, the writer can express opinions or thoughts, as well as comment on others posts, and have others post on their posts. Things to back up each persons thought or opinions can also be used and posted. The writer can add links, and other things to prove a point.
4)How might blogging be an effective extension of learning in the classroom?
- I am not sure how effective blogging would be. I think it could be effective for a classroom because each of us can read each others posts and comment and create discussions for class. In class some aren't apt to talk and this may be a way for them to get their voice heard. This could also help because others may know more than you do, and also you can find information to help you understand things or discussions in class. For me I am just not a big fan of blogging yet, could like it more as i use it though, we shall see!
